Hi folks,

I would like to apply stream B: Canadian work experience under special policy (I think it is the same program of CEC).

I have been working as a full time employee (32 hours per week), and I am going to apply this program soon.

My question is that if i had COVID sick leave for almost 2 weeks during my working period, and I worked less than 30 hours for that bi-week, could I work a extra 2 weeks (1 years and two weeks) to compensate it before I apply for this scheme?

Also, my start working date was on 16 July 2021 and my first pay stub period was started from 11 july 2021 to 24 july 2021. It means I started to work at the middle of that period, and the working hours was 54 hours in that two weeks. Therefore, I wonder is it a matter? How will IRCC count of this?

Thank you guys.

I'm not sure what you mean by special policy. CEC is a program through Express Entry. There's no special policy around this.

For the two weeks you were off, as long as you were paid a salary during this time, you can count that towards your 1 year of work experience.

Thank you for reply,
For that two weeks, company only paid 6 days (41 hours) for me and I did work 2 days for that two weeks. So the total working hours (paid sick leave + 2 days work ) in that period was 54.5 hours (which is less than 60 hours), so any ideas how will IRCC count of it?

I would work an extra two weeks and then you can be sure you'll be good.

Ya, thats what I am thinking of, so is it means as long as I get 26 bi-week pay stubs which working hours is more than 60 hours, I am good to go?

(26 * 60 hours = 1560 hours )

By the way, if i have some weeks the working hours (or paid leave) are less than 60 hours, IRCC will count them as part time hours?

You need 52 weeks where you worked 30 hours or more to meet the 1 year work experience requirement. If you have weeks where you worked less than 30 hours, then you should work additional weeks to make up that time.
