Hello, am a visa holder since end october, my visa will expire in februry 2021, Can I travel since my sibling is a Canadian citizen?
Cic website says :
" Extended family members of a Canadian citizen, person registered under Canada’s Indian Act or permanent resident
To be eligible, all of the following must apply:

  • You’re an extended family member of a Canadian citizen, person registered under Canada’s Indian Act or permanent resident.
  • You’re staying in Canada for 15 days or more.
  • You have written authorization from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
You must also have a quarantine plan that shows how you’ll quarantine for 14 days when you arrive in Canada. This plan is mandatory.

Extended family members staying for less than 15 days must be travelling for a non-discretionary purpose."

You would need to get written authorization from IRCC. If you can get that, then yes - you could travel.

You will have to quarantine for 2 weeks regardless and need to show negative covid result.
Hi
Thanks for reply but its not correct for US Citizen, even if you see IM0006E form do have option for less than 14 days, how can you do quarantine if your stay in Canada is for less than 14 days?

@scylla looking for your opinion

Thanks

Not true, quarantine is a must for everyone, even for Canadian citizens who travelled abroad and returned. US citizens wont get any exceptions.

Travel needs to be non-discretionary if someone is looking to come for less than 14 days and you must be able to prove this at the border. If you don't have a very strong reason / strong evidence, be prepared to be turned away at the border.

Bro, did you read my comment? US citizens wont get any exceptions.
There is exception if purpose of travel is non-discretionary. I was only concern either IM0006 is required or not.
