Hi all,

I am a US citizen on a post-grad work permit in BC. I have applied for PR via Express Entry with the help of a lawyer paid for by my company.

I have an interest in pursuing a master's degree from an institution in Canada, including those in other provinces, including Quebec. I have begun working on applications, but I am unsure whether or not I want to go in 2019 or 2020.

I noticed that in one of my applications, there is a consent form for the school to release my application information to Immigration Canada. I am worried that this show of intent to move to Quebec will jeopardize my chances of getting PR. Many school application deadlines are approaching, but I likely won't hear back about PR until April.

My question is, should I hold off applying to grad schools until next year to ensure I am able to get PR? Or does the government not care too much about these types of things?

Thanks in advance!

The schools will need t know if you are a domestic or international student. The applications are considered differently.

If you are only planning on temporarily living in Quebec for school, I think this is not a problem.
