The title of this thread might sound stupid, but let me explain.
Some time back I enrolled in MSP (which is the health insurance of British Columbia). I had great difficulty enrolling in this because of the way it was set up. I tried a paper application but they didn't receive it.
Finally I had to sign up through their online system. The online system is set up in such a way that you cannot progress with the application unless you tick a box which says '' I intend to stay in Canada after my study course finishes '', and then at the end of the application you have to give a form of digital signature to submit the application and prove its you.
If you don't tick that box which says that you intend to remain in Canada after your study course, then you cannot submit the application because they say its only meant for people who intend to remain after their course of study.
Is this some kind of trap? Because on your study permit, it says that the condition of your study permit is that you need to leave Canada after finishing your course........but then this health insurance says the opposite. And you cannot apply for the insurance unless you say exactly what your study permit says you shouldn't say.
And obviously you cannot NOT have insurance. So you kind of have no choice but to apply for this.
Will this have an effect on PGWP applications later on? Can this document be used against you and they say that you violated your study permit by signing up for health insurance and saying that you intend to stay in Canada?
