Hi all,

When I create my EE profile, I input I have cousin in Canada. Currently, I am in pool with valid job bank. My profile is 390.

Because my grandma dont have birth certificate, I can not proof my father and my cousin's mom have same mom.

So should I withdraw my profile now? Will it impact my profile?

I plan to apply FSW because I have some foreign work experience.

Hi,

There is no point in withdrawing the profile right now. But you can try to improve your score by doing better in IELTS. Did you calculate where are you lacking in the score. Try to achieve 400+ and you might get a OINP letter of interest.

As far as proving your cousin is concerned, in early times there were no birth certificates. So your grandmother can declare this on a affidavit. I am not 100% sure if this will work but this has worked in case of my friend in US. So I believe notary attested affidavits holds some value.
But this should not be a reason to withdraw profile. You can try to improve your score and bring it above 400 so that you have a chance.

You must remove your relative from your profile. Cousins are not counted as relatives in the FSW criterion for Adaptability.

You can simply edit your profile without needing to withdraw it.

Yup!
I agree with bellaluna, remove the cousin from your profile abs then If you can increase your score....u can talk about your cousin in a letter of explanation if you can get an ITA...good luck.

Family in Canada (parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, sister, brother, niece, nephew, child or grandchild, spouse or common-law partner who is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident living in Canada).

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/relatives-apply-who.asp

niece, nephew: Nephew is a term referring to the son of one's sibling or spouse's sibling, and niece to the daughter of one's sibling or spouse's sibling. Sons and daughters of siblings-in-law are also informally referred to as nephews and nieces respectively, even though there is no blood relation. The word nephew is derived from the French word neveu.

I don't know will it help, I found this. So maybe you will decide.

This what i found on http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/cousin-considered-as-family-relative-t39300.0.html

What you quoted seems to be only one member's opinion rather than text from the CIC link though.

In any case, the OP should remove the cousin if they can't provide any proof of the relationship.

I totally agree with you Bella :)
