Dear all,

Need you advise.

I submitted my canada immigration documents in Oct 2009 and got the file number in July 2010. After that, last week I received a letter from VO asking for updated forms along with Police Report and Right of Permanent Residency Fee. However he didn't ask for Medical. According to my solicitor, once we submit these documents along with fee, we'll get Medical documents for the whole family.

Good New is that my wife is pregnant is expecting in Mid June.

Now if VO sends the medical documents, we'll not be able to medical until Mid June.

My solicitor is suggesting that we should send letter to VO requesting him not to send medical documents until Mid June, but I'm afraid that if we send the request to delay, then they may delay it for looooong, which I can't afford in the current circumstances.

What should I do? Should I request to delay or just send the requested documents and wait for their reply????

You should send the docs and forms what actually they have requested. You can update immediately once your baby comes of.

Hi, gudboy,
You can send the requested document but don't ask to delay the medical. What you can, just update your family situation and inform the VO about your wife's expected delivery date. They will send you the instruction. After delivery immediately make the newborn's passport and update the V.O they will send you medical for all family members including the newborn baby. (By the way medical process will take 4-6 months)

Hope that helps,

Till he instructs VO by filling up forms, VO will not ask him MR for his baby. Its wise to let the application goes on its own way. Once the baby comes of, he should send the updated forms and docs for his baby. Then they will require MR for his baby. However, its your good suggestion that he should write a few about the forthcoming child and possible date.

But I'm afraid that if I'll write to VO that my wife can't do medical, so please don't send medical documents until end of June, they may put my file in the cupboard and forget about it.......

Any idea, once you recieve the medical documents, how much time you have usually to send the report back? 60 days or 90 days?

Again I say ...let the application goes on its own way. You are not sure when the MR comes nor ever you don't know the exact situation of your wife's health. If she is able to do medical, then no problem at all. You will add your forthcoming son/daughter in your application package at that time.

If it is not possible for your wife to go for medical at the time the VO instructs, do your one and send a cover letter explaining the facts. Hope they will understand and judge the matter positively. That's it, friend. Don't worry.

Best wishes,

Thanks deba_avik

Actually I want the process to complete asap and can't afford any delay

You dont worry, they must have given you some time period to send the requested docs right?, so you do one thing send arround 10 days before the deadline this way you can delay the medical a bit like sooner you send these docs sooner they will send the MR so send it bit late, and dont tell them anything just let it go on its own. June is just three months away, most probably you will get MR after June, in case if you receive MR before June in that case also you will have 60 days to send MR so by that time you wife would have been delivered so you can do medicals for yourself and wife and ask them to send you medical for the baby.
