Hi all,

I need your input on this, I'm a June 2019 applicant from Hamilton, ON. Test was cleared back in March.

On July 2021 I requested to transfer my file to BC (Vancouver), as I moved for a new job. However, despite multiple follow up calls and webform inquiry, the transfer hasn't occurred yet. Today, CIC agent advised maybe I should request to cancel the transfer, as the transfer ultimately will add further delay on my application.

I know, Hamilton office is one of the slowest in terms of processing time. Therefore, PLS can somebody provide some input whether i'm better off with canceling the request or continue with the request, despite the ultimate delay that might cause?

I'm willing to fly back if I were to scheduled an in person ceremony in Hamilton later on.

Thanks,

I dont think there will be in-person oath anytime soon. Not having confidence that it will even happen in 2021.
How did you request transferring the file? Did you update your address?

Yes, I also think no in person interview will be conducted soon. Just not sure if keeping the transfer request would be the right call, given the history of Hamilton office.

Yes, the request was as result of updating address online.

Thanks

I would very much appreciate if someone can give me some insight or experience about Vancouver office (application volume, procession time etc), it will help me to make the decision.

We can take the word from call center 100% since they have limited information and dont know fully on any file.

There is no guarantee that your file is not at your current location(based one the current address change you submitted). Check with others if gcms notes will reveal the location.
There is no guarantee that your file will be moved fast to same location if you update the address again.
As its online, its better to leave it as it is. You shouldnt have changed the address but now doing this address change again might even lead to more delays for second trip of transfer of files.

Hey friends , need your suggestion . My application is with CIC Montreal. I did my Citizenship test in Jan and passed it. In interview the officer said ill get my oath in 3 months but then covid came in and everything delayed. Now recently, I ordered my gcms notes and i saw everything is good but two things i do not understand.

1) Under paper file , my file says location :Box- Transfer CEN (what does that mean ? )
2)Officer Note : This case is expected to be outside 12 months processing standard , applicationon queue to be analysed - file referred to cen

i sent an email to CIC , they said they verified the info and said my file is still in process.

I do not understand , everything is good ,knowledge ,criminality all passed.

Should i move to Ontario and expect my file could be processed quicker ?

Thank you, I really appreciate your comment. I already requested gmcs notes and hope it shed some lights

Update:
Surprisingly I received an email from IRCC Hamilton today in response to a fax letter I send while ago inquiring about my transfer request.
Unlike the generic response we often get, they're actually very specific and mentioned that when my file granted to move to the next step, I will receive a virtual oath ceremony from Hamilton office.
I'm glad my very specific has been answered clearly
