Hello guys,

I wanted to apply under NOC2173 for PR(FSW).

I have all my documents ready. However, when I checked the cap last week, the cap is filled under 2173.

I am not in an urgency to get my PR under the Express system. I would prefer my PR to arrive after one year. So I prefer the normal route than the express.

My question is:

1. If I apply before Dec 31st, will I still fit in the old process though the cap has been reached?

2. If I apply under the EE and a PR is granted, can I do the landing and settle in Canada after a year?

Thanks!!

Thanks!!

1. You can't apply before December 31st. The cap has been reached.
2. You must land in Canada before the expiry of your PR visa.

Thanks for responding!!

How long is the PR visa valid for? Can I do the landing, get it stamped on the passport and come over permanently after a year?

The PR visa is typically valid to one year after the date of your medical exam.
