Should I get a new Visitor Visa?

My current visa is valid till September 2022, but it's on a canceled passport. I've done extensive research and have had people tell me that traveling with the renewed passport and the visa in the old one is fine, but I saw someone on here get refused to board their flight to Canada because they were in the exact situation I was in. What do you guys think?

Also, when I apply for a new visa, will my current visa be valid till the time my new one's issued?
