Husband is a long time Canadian citizen. I received my eCOPR in Feb 2026 through QSW after 3 years of hard work and 7 years total in Canada. I got married in July 2025, filed a webform for status change in Dec 2025, got my P1 around January (I did not think of replying with my marriage change). I got my eCOPR as ‘single’, sent another webform, they told me to file An amendment. I have major airport anxiety and my passport doesn’t help. I travel abroad A LOT and I just can’t help but think what if I file an amendment and they suddenly deactivate my pr card or something?

can I just leave my status like that until I file for citizenship? What are the implications then? P.S. I already have my physical PR card.

Do I just submit an amendment next July when I will stop travelling abroad too much?

Yes I have it since April. I’m just afraid that when I apply for citizenship they notice the discrepancy and delay my application or refuse it
It won't matter for your citizenship application.

If you are stressing about it, you can apply for the amendment, new PR card will not be issued due to that. So no risk for you.

I don’t really want to file the amendment because I don’t want to play with the file. Between getting the CSQ and eCOPR I had to wait 3 years. I have been through a lot of anxiety. I’m just afraid that when I apply for citizenship, they see that my marriage date was before the eCOPR and delay the citizenship due to investigating what happened or why it wasn’t declared (even though I sent a webform but maybe they didn’t attach it). What do you think

As I have already mentioned.

No need for amendments.

No issue with your citizenship application whatsoever.

IRCC already told you to amend it. I’d contact them first and specifically ask whether filing IMM 1436 affects your existing PR card while it’s being processed.
