Should I be worried?

Hey everyone,

I sent my passport copy, photos and updated info form to Ottawa for the issuing of my common law PR visa (My application was outland and was retained in Mississauga instead of being sent to London). The instructions I received said I could either send the package to London, or I could send it to Ottawa if I was planning on remaining in Canada for at least 3 months.

I just wondered roughly how long the turnaround is from them receiving my package to them issuing CoPR?

Because the instructions that were given were so vague, i'm a bit worried that I maybe shouldn't have sent it to Ottawa as i havent heard anything yet. Theres a 30 day time limit on them receiving this information. Should I be worried that I havent heard anything?

there is no known phone number for ottawa, nor will calling the call center be of any help since they can't access information at the visa offices. so "Calling them" is not really an option.

to the op, the blue link in my signature below is the ottawa spreadsheet. you may be able to determine how long you will be waiting to get your copr back with the information listed. generally, for ottawa it takes anywhere from 2-4 weeks for it to be completed. the copr will come in the regular mail in a brown envelope. how long it takes to get to you depends on where it's being mailed. when ECAS changes to DM, that generally means it was mailed out.

if you are in canada, you did the right thing, so there's no need to worry about that. when was everything sent to ottawa? ottawa is a bit slower than usual right now, so there is a chance they might wait until AFTER the due date written in the request before they finanlize your visa.
