I am USA applicant for Canadian family class PR sponsored by my Canadian citizen wife. We are "visiting" Canada right now - have been here four months.

I am applying for a visitor extension while waiting for my family class permanent residence and the extension application asks why I want extend my visit. I'm hoping to continue to "visit" Canada until I get my PR. Should I say that or keep saying that I am visiting family (which we are doing)? Which will most likely get me approval for the extension?

-Thanks

Just state that you are visiting your spouse while you wait for your PR app to be processed. They will see your PR app in the system and know exactly what you are doing anyways, so it's not something you can hide.

Second this. Don't seem like something that they'd worry about anyway, sounds like a sensible reason.

Yeah, I also agree that you should just say that you're waiting for PR but ALSO visiting family regardless.
