Hi all,

I sent the second half of my PR application to Buffalo on the 28th of October and Canada Post confirmed its delivery on the 4th of November. According to some reports I have come across, I should have received an email confirmation from them that they have received it. Is it normal to be waiting 5 weeks for this? I would like to hear if others are in a similar situation.

Many thanks,

Derek

Yes, your situation is still normal. it varies from case to case, for me i got it after 28 days, some other applicants took 2 months or more to get it. What does your e-case show ? if you can see "received by the visa office", you will be fine.

There is only one entry on the e-case and it says "Centralized Intake Office Sydney (CIO-S) Eligibility Review Complete". Does this mean I should be worried that they have not received it as this is not updated? Canada post says it was received on the 4th of November.

No, you are still fine because they take a while sometimes to update the e-case, wait for another month, if you do not receive the AOR or see the status received by the visa office, send them an email to confirm recieving your application.

Ok, thanks for the advice. Perhaps it would be good if another one of the seniors posted there comments on it also.

I was in the same boat earlier this year when I submitted my application. I emailed Buffalo consulate and they said time taken to get AOR is anywhere between 18-20 weeks. This was way back in March 2009. I'm not sure if the time taken for them to get back to applicants has improved.

Hi mpapdp.1984,

Are you referring to the first AOR from Sdney (which are recieved) or the confirmation from the visa office (Buffalo in my case) for the second part of the application?

Thanks,

Derek

Friend,

When I applied the new rules were not declared. So I had sent the whole application to Buffalo (November 14 2008).

Thanks mpapdp.1984,

If anyone has any similar reports I would appreciate anymore feedback about my situation.
