Hello,

My name is Anu and I got a travel fellowship for 3 months to study in Canada. The HR at the University advised me to apply for the Temporary resident visa (TRV) and mentioned that I do not need a work/study permit since I will be here for less than 120 days. They said it is the policy from Short-term Researcher public policy exemption.

I applied for my TRV from UK where I am currently working. They said it should take 43 days for processing. It has been 60 days and I have not received any information on my application. I also sent a query through the webform and there is no reply from them either. Has anyone encountered this problem and could advice me.

Thanks!

Anu

Nothing you can do but wait.

Your application is non-routine. The 43-day processing time is for routine applications (e.g. simple tourism). Your purpose and your status are definitely more complex than the usual case.
