Hello guys,

I will be landing tomorrow. I live in Canada and will be heading to US and do some shopping and come back. I will land while coming back at the border.

My question is can I buy some electronic stuff from states and/or some liquor from duty free before entering canada without paying any duties.

Any replies would be really appreciated...

Check the CBSA website. All the limits are there.

I think what the OP is asking is if he could go and buy a bunch of stuff and then put it on his B4 form or whatever the form exactly is, and not pay duty on it. CIC website says this . . .

"When you move to Canada from another country, you may bring your personal and household goods with you without paying duty. But you will have to pay duty on any item you bring that has not been used."

So if they can see it's brand new, you're out of luck. Of course the link for normal limits are there as per the previous poster, but for any trip less than 48 hours you're allowed bupkes.

If you try and bring that stuff in on the basis of a B4, I think you are going to have serious issues with the landing process. They would probably believe that you are trying to cheat the system.. There will be tears. If I were you, I'd stick to both the letter AND spirit of the B4.
