Sharing timeline for recent online TRV application from within Canada

Application submitted online: Feb 25th, 2014
Original passport request: March 5th, 2014
Passport dropped at local Canada Post office: March 7th, 2014
Passport Delivered to CPP-O: March 10th
Just check, visa was stamped and passport return initiated on March 13th

Very fast and good experience. I currently hold a Canadian work permit

Regularly receiving emails from CiC saying that there is an update on myCiC account but there is no new update. I have a flight on May 20, 2014. I am worried now.

You submitted your application with just a 5 weeks deadline? That's too tight....

hi all,
like others i am facing this issue too.
So filled online application for application for visitor extension within Canada (i'm on PGWP) ,the template brought me too "application outside Canada" but i attached the form that is "application within Canada".
I got biometric request too but i have ignored as this is automatically generated by the online template.
CIC is struggling with their database ,they dont have a proper online template for people applying within Canada so as they are getting a lot of email now.

i am travelling at the end of June(hopefully i'll get my visa by then)

my timeline: applied May 17 (may 17-18-19 were days OFF/long weekend)
may 18-biometric request
may 28:sent email to CPC Ottawa regarding my case that i received biometric which i' should nt have and explained my case as well.

note:after applying i attached letter of explanation too that i am applying within canada and using the correct form but the online template says"application submitted outside Canada"


Please comment if its taking too long in my case? i'd start counting from 20th May (its already been 8 x Working days as of today)

Hi i m exactly the same case as, urs and i.applied may 6 and still waiting..online within canada..they say 18 Calender days so u should expect a reply next week..quick question .did u upload.a joboffer or something showing u r looking for job in Ur letter of explanation.i didn't and i m worried if i have to.please update me..i so far only got two messages saying my.application is updated but there was no change in my cic.u?

Hi,
I am working full time. But i did't upload any job letter since the template did't ask for one.
If CiC ask i'll provide. Also i did't show any bank statement. Just uploaded work permit and new passport front pages.
I got email regarding update on my status on May 26 but when i logged in i saw the last update may 21.
cIC is struggling with their database i.e its up/down now and then.

We should have sent paper based application.
I'll wait next week and then ask to cancel my current application and send paper based to Ottawa.

does anybody know if cancel the current online application by sending email.how long should wait to send the paper based application along with passport to CPC Ottawa? as the replies from them takes time too.
i dont care about the money i paid compared to the loss i'll face if not have visa soon.

I think it is a big gamble. CPC-Ottawa is not replying anything. If you cancel this application, then your new application will go back in the queue. When I applied online within Canada, it was saying that it takes only 11 days then after one week it said that it takes 17 days and after another week it said that it takes 20 days and then it said that it takes 18 days. Also, the current application they are processing is on May 7, 2014 but I applied on April 13, 2014.

As far as paper based applications are concern, things are not much different. There are few guys from April who applied paper based but still did not hear anything from CIC.
