Settlement Funds , Assets & Liability Query

Hi All,
Can you pls confirm this ...

Settlement Fund = Settlement Fund - Liability(Car Loan) ?
or
Assets = Settlement Fund + Mutual Funds + Gold + Property - Liability(Car Loan) ?

Actually assets = any thing of value that you own, including cash, investments, property, gold, cars, provident funds, etc.
Settlement funds = the liquid and unencumbered assets
Liabilities = anything you owe. It is not subtracted from assets.

Example, you have a property worth 1 million and a loan with 900K outstanding. Assets = 1 million, liabilities = 900K.
