I just do not get it. I found out we cannot start a business in Canada as international students, even if we have a work permit. Only possible if we have a PR card or we are citizens.

Isn't it a bit unfair? How can entrepreneurship be considered bad for Canada?
Many companies are set up by immigrants, and they benefit not only the entrepreneur, but the country as a whole, creating jobs and boosting economy.

Currently, there are a lot of restrictions for international students to create start-ups.

Even though they created a new visa for start-ups, but this visa requirement is just ridiculous. The first requirement is to secure a minimum investment of $200,000 if the investment comes from a designated Canadian venture capital fund. Is CIC living in the real world?

dear friend this is obvious reason .

you are going there for studies not for business .. so not a single country will alow you to do business as a international student..

If you want to start your own business than take permit as a business man doing investment and all not as an international student .

I feel they are right as i live in overseas for 10 years .. all the countries have same rule .

Yes once you got the pr than you have all the rights to go ..

Yes, that is right, I came here for studies.
But for many of us, our research evolves into a business opportunity, and we cannot take advantage of this. Canada makes it harder to do this transition.

About your argument, think about those that came with work visas?
Are you going to tell them that they came here to work, not to open their own business? Does not make sense. Because this is equally hard for them.
I had a work visa before.
