September 2025 - Outland Spousal Sponsorship

Hi All,

I had applied for outland spousal application on Sep 12, 2025.

PA in Pakistan and Sponsor in Canada.

AOR, Biometric, Medical, and Eligibility was all completed by Dec 2025.

Last update is from March 26, 2026 that Background check is in progress and no update since.

The medical is expiring on Dec 4, 2026, and I am concerned that if no response till then, would they ask for it again and could it delay the process further?

Any advise would be appreciated!

Since your medical is expiring soon there is a high chance you will be requested to redo it.

The time left is very little to have your application finalized and you do the landing.

There has been also a slow down on how many outland applications are finalized in the last 3 months ~1K/month compared to ~3.6K/month early year (Most likely because IRCC is closer to the set targets for this year, hence finalization number will go up again at the beginning of 2027 once the new plan goes into action.
