that's one of the big moves. My PA eligilibility is not even started.
Yeah? I think mine went straight from "not started" to "completed" - don't remember it ever becoming "in progress" - which is great because "completed" is what we all want to see.
Mine says 'we are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements' on GCKey but on the portal it says not started. Good to know... not sure which one to trust haha!

Yeah it can be weird and confusing to follow at times. PA's GCKey also still says the same as yours but as of today, on the tracker it switched to "Completed" - GCKey too will be updated in due course of time. Also the sponsor eligibility letter is from the IRCC Mississauga office so I just learned maybe that is where the application is being processed (I guess). Signature updated.
Is it necessary to use the GCKey OR can I manage with PR portal and Application tracker?
FYI - I have tried linking my application to GCKey numerous times but it didn't work out.
Letters for biometrics and medicals come on GCKey, you need those to get that specific task done. I would guess some of the other final updates and important letters/communication would also appear on that account. Trackers are just... trackers - they only show updates and checkpoints as far as I know. A GCKey account is the complete thing - with an inbox and everything else you need. We really need to figure out why haven't you been able to link your application. Have you tried reaching out to IRCC helpline? I know you mentioned you exhausted all your resources but there is no way for us over here to know what exactly is incorrect or not working on your end without knowing any specific details.

Yes, I did reach out to them once. IRCC support guy said to include the sponsor as well while linking the application to GCkey.
Yes, that is correct. You need to add all the people in your application including yourself. Apart from this, have you made sure your other information is also correct? Sometime a 0 (zero) can appear as the letter O, sometimes a capital I can also be mistaken as 1. I am sure you must have checked everything but please double-triple check everything to eliminate any issues. I am not sure if I have any other advice for you, except to look into it personally... which I'd rather not (isn't that awkward?). Maybe try to visit an immigration consultant office just to help you with this? It wouldn't be expensive at all if you find someone genuinely willing to help.
Just FYI - I am in a WhatsApp group and a lady just informed me that I'm okay with just the tracker and email access. TY for your response though.
Okay cool. Just to let you know - the request letters for biometrics and medical come to the GCKey inbox, not to your personal email. Maybe the lady can help confirm if there is an alternate solution to this. Good luck!
Thanks for your concern. I have heard a lot of contradicting replies from people on this subject - some have said you absolutely need to have GCkey, others have mentioned its not a deal-breaker.
I wish there was an option to share screenshots on this website but anyway, two people in the WhatsApp group confirmed that I will be receiving emails for everything.
