Once the initial updates like eligibility, BIL, etc happen, the longest waiting period is Background checks, for which we will start getting the updates by June/July. Till then relax.

Does medical comes before background check is completed or no chronological order as such?
In almost all of the cases I noticed, it usually comes before background check is completed. I'm not 100% sure though.

My study permit is valid till june 2026 but I completed my studies back in dec 2024… After that i didn’t fill any paper work for myself as me and my gf was planning to married. So, we thought we will apply for spousal PR.. So, we got married in April 2025 and file for Inland spousal PR application in Nov 2025. After that we received the file back in Jan 2026 because of incomplete file. So, we completed the file and resubmitted again and we received the AOR on Mar 12, 2026.
So, we thought of applying SOWP.
But, recently i got to know my study permit is not valid anymore, it expires after 90 days of the completion of studies.
*What would be my next step?

You need to apply for status restoration along with sowp.
I would also suggest you to contact IRCC, so they would guide you to do the appropriate next step based on your status.
