Hi all,

Unfortunately my study permit is refused on the following grounds:

I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.

My Profile:

Visa Applied : 15 July 2020
Country : India
Applied from : India - No travel history - blank passport - Never been inside an Airplane actually :p
Type of Visa : SDS application - Paid full first year tuition fees of 20,000 CAD and GIC of 10,000 CAD
AIP : 03 September 2020
Biometrics : 14 December
Medical Updated : 20 December as passed
Study permit refusal : 31 January 2021
I am attending my second semester online

Age : 28
10th : 90%
Inter : 85%
B.Tech : Mechanical 75% with 12 backlogs. All cleared within 04 years. This is my highest Qualification.
I had a gap of 07 years after my B.Tech. But I have worked as a Software developer for 05 plus years. I have produced employment documents
Course : Post Baccalaureate diploma in Artificial Intelligence in St. Francis Xavier University.
Intake : September 2020 - Not deferred.
IELTS score : 7.5 overall - not less than 6.5
Type of Visa : SDS application - Paid full first year tuition fees of 20,000 CAD and GIC of 10,000 CAD
Biometrics : 14 December
Medical Updated : 20 December as passed
Sibling in Canada : YES, he is just 100 miles from my University. I mentioned this in my Visa application.

I have provided a strong SOP why I am choosing this program how this helps with my career.
I clearly mentioned why I opted for career in software after Btech in Mechanical
I clearly mentioned why this course is a right fit for my career

However,
I did not mention about my backlogs because my B.tech is completed in 2013 and I mentioned more about my 6 years of professional life than B.tech.
I did not mention my future plans like - Will come back to India, take care of family, more jobs in India etc...
I did not provide any other financials like CA wealth certificate or bank funds. Only provided GIC and first year fees receipts.

I need some inputs from experienced folks.
Did my visa refused on "Purpose of visit" just because I did not mentioned my future plans in SOP?

I just mentioned one line "there will lot of job opportunities back in India once I complete this course."

If I submit an SOP now with the following structure ; what are my chances of getting a study permit approval.

SOP - Start
1) Mention my previous refusal and asking for re-consideration
2) Academics
3) Professional life
4) Why Particular degree outside India? - I will mention detailed reasons
5) Why Particular program in my University? - I will mention strong reasons
6) Why canada ? I will mention why not some other country
7) Purpose of Visit and Future plans :
I will mention why I want to come to canada and leave Canda after course completion. I will mention how attached I am to my family to address family ties
I will mention mention my job prospects in India after completing this particular course.
8) Financials : I will attach GIC and first year full fees - I cannot add any more to this.
9) I will mention how much depressing it is to hear about refusal after 08 months of visa application and while I am studying my 2nd semester. I will request to process my file as soon as possible so that I can continue my studies.

Please let me know if I am missing anything in my new SOP?

FYI, I don't have time to wait for GCMS notes. So I will proceed with applying again.

Please wait for your GCMS notes, it will strengthen your future application if you directly rebut/address the concerns of the VO.
Also try to show your first semester marks and how you performed academically in your SOP.

Sorry for your rejection, I am waiting for my application too, if it‘ll help, I’ll review your SOP
