I have a question. When we take the Oath they will mail us a Canadian Citizenship Certificate. Is that the one we use in order to apply for a new passport or we need to request one?

You are right, you need that citizenship certificate that you get after oath through mail to apply for the Canadian passport.

Guys, my wife got a phone call from IRCC today saying that there is no photo taken during the test and her test results is INVALID. They said officer will schedule the test again? anybody in a similar boat?

Hi,I'm on the same boat,took the test last Feb 8, got a call first week of March saying photo was not showing when I took the test, but I was seeing myself when I was taking the test.The only problem I encounter was the camera wasn't working the first try and needed to re try more than 3x I think before it work,. Still waiting for the next step, told me he will call.back for retest either another online test or in teams.Let me know if you have any update on your application. Thanks.

That is correct, you need citizenship certificate. Please note that you may want to review checklist for passport application ahead of time to understand the requirements i.e. photos etc.

I still haven't got my test invitation. They received my application Sep 04, 2019.

And haven't got anything ever since. I sent then a web format and called them and they told me rest assured they have everything needed and that I need to wait but looking at other applicants who received their test invites and are already making their way into the Oath now, this makes me stressed. Anyone on the same boat still waiting for the test? I'm from Ottawa

I recommend you to reach your riding MP and ask them to look into the matter. It’s usually helpful to learn more about your application by the MP.

I believe Ottawa office just started sending test invites to different 2019 applicants. Yours might be on the way. Good luck!

Same boat. I took the test last week and camera did not work during the test. However, I haven't received any call or email yet.

I contacted CIC through my MP too. He just confirmed that all the documents were in order and CIC didn't require anything else.
