Landed this evening at Bluewater Bridge. It's hard to believe the process is finally over. When we got up to the booth the officer who directed us over to the building for further processing was curious how long the process had taken us and whether we had used a lawyer. He also congratulated us. The biggest hassle of the whole experience was a huge lineup of cars to even get to that point. I had to initial some things, sign some things, and the agent looked over the form with my list of belongings (26 foot Uhaul, they didn't bother looking inside but asked standard questions about whether I was bringing in alcohol, firearms, etc.). He clarified that I didn't have any goods to follow or any vehicles. He also mentioned that most people aren't as organized as I was. At the end, he gave us our paperwork and congratulated us. The whole process in the building took about 20 minutes or maybe a little longer, but there were several people there ahead of us for various things.

Good luck to everyone still waiting for approval. :)
So good to hear that everything went smoothly!! Congrats on finally reaching the end!!! Thank you for all your help along the way! :)

Hey guys!

Need some clarification on an email I just received from Mexico City. It looks like our official AOR2, and a medical request. We already submitted the medicals with our application back in September. Not sure if they are asking us to resend the same documents, or re-do our medicals?
Our medicals do expire next week, but the email did not reference that at all.. it looked like just a general Medical Request email

I was told here 2 different things. One person said to NOT redo the medicals unless the specifically ask to, and to just resend the original medicals. Someone else said to redo medicals as they expire soon anyway... But I know medicals can be extended... So?

Anybody have experience with this specifically?

Hello September applicants. I am wondering if anyone can enlighten us on our journey. A couple months ago, we received our AOR2 with a letter saying we needed to get a FBI certificate because my husband lived in the USA 18 years ago when he was doing his masters. Unfortunately we never thought about that before and so now we are in the process of waiting for this report from the FBI. The received our application on Jan 23 so its been 6 weeks so far and I just saw on the website that there processing time is 12- 14 weeks plus mailing. This is a bit worrisome because the letter we got says we have 120 days to have this completed and it might be enough time but i don't know for sure that it will be. Anyone here ever have to get this certificate from the FBI? If so, how long did it take till you received it? Thanks

I thought I read somewhere that you could now use a channeller to obtain an FBI report. We went through FBI as we didn't have that option and it took about 8 weeks. Maybe post on the main message board as I am positive there is a quicker way now.

No experience with that but I do know that they can extend them. I know that when we got a request to do my stepkids medicals they sent an actual medical form with the request that we were to take to their appointment. My thought is maybe they are mixed up with the new and old way and just automatically asked for it to be done. I would send in the copy from when it was done as you didn't receive a form to take to get it done. I don't think panel physicians are doing them without paperwork from CIC now, as no one is allowed to do them until instructed to.

From what we understand you can only use a channeller if your a US citizen. Cani ask when you did yours? 8 weeks sounds a lot better to me than 12 -14 weeks!!

Sorry saw the US part and thought anyone could use it seeing as it was for US report. We didn't have that option so I don't know a lot about it. He did it in April and got it back in June.

Mine only took 8 weeks as well. Applied in early October, received early December.

When you listed your goods on the form, were you specific about them? Or did you just write something along the lines of "one box of clothes, one box of shoes" etc.

I was very generic. I had eight categories, and then listed the number of boxes in each category. For instance:

Clothes (6 boxes)
Toys (20 boxes)
Household Items (15 boxes)
Furniture (20 items)

If they had asked for more, I actually had spreadsheets that broke it down more specifically, but that was for my own purposes so that I could identify what I needed immediately quickly.

I see. Thanks! Working on filling out my husband's now. Never fails, moving always opens your eyes to how much stuff you accumulate over the years!

Application has been approved, waiting for my COPR documents :D

I have a couple of questions for once I land (planning in May/June time). On the September Spreadsheet it gives you the list of what you need with you, but I have a few questions.

1. With the PR Card Application (IMM 5444E) do you have to pay another fee for this application when you go to see an immigration officer? (I know silly question but just want to make sure).

2. If the officer asks for proof of funds, are bank statements from my wife's Canadian account acceptable? All my earnings are being transferred to her account before I fly over.

3. What's the best way to do the Goods Accompanying List? Is there an official form I need to complete before seeing the officer? I won't have goods to follow after I land in Canada, so am I right in guessing I don't need to do that form?

Many thanks.
