Thanks miglop2014. This is what I have been struggling to deal with. I have decided to wait till Nov end. After that I will send an e-mail at their inquiry e-mail ID. As by that time it will be more than 10-weeks.

This would be useless. Without a number you can't be helped.

My suggestion is to chill and forget about the process. The more you look into it the more you will suffer. You can't do anything about it by now but wait and pray everything is going as planned.

That is simply not true. CIC can always use UCI to identify you and find your file.

Kartu_PR needs to know whether his application is still with CIO or lost by Canada Post. The question now would be "How long should I wait before contacting CIC?" It's up to him to decide but the CIC Call Center could offer some advice.

I have submitted my CEC application this Sept. I am expection AOR by 20th Dec 2014 (If everything goes well).
My current work permit expires by 18th Jan 2015.
Is there anyway I can apply for BOWP before getting AOR because I am afraid that if I wait until I get my AOR, my work permit will expire before I get BOWP. Any advice will be great.

Wait. If you have applied for a new work permit before your current work permit expires you are in implied status and can continue working until CIC makes a decision about your work permit application (which should be approved if you have an application number).

And UCI is.... a number....


As far as I can tell he hasn't recieved an AOR, the AOR contains the UCI. When CIC charges the CC that means they opened a file application for you which triggers the AOR. Maybe he has a UCI and I didn't read that detail, if so, my bad.

Again, without a number (UCI or any other) it is useless to call/email them.

I would suggest wait until Jan 12, 2015 and get ready with all the documents required to submit a paper application for BOWP. If you can't get the AOR by that date then submit the paper application and make sure you have enough processing time for the paper work permit applications to buy you some time to be in implied status until they open the file and make a decision.

Hi Zareef...do you mean that we can contact CIC to know whether the file is with CIC even without a file number but with can be located with the UCI? If so, it's a good thing to know.

It seems like 13 months process only for aor now

I'll call the bank tomorrow and ask if it's be cashed. I annoy them every other day to check for me lol. The thing with the bank draft is they can only confirm if it's been cashed close of business day for the previous day so it's a little frustrating.
