I also put unemployed on mine with an explanation that I'm completing a master's. The great news is that for spousal sponsorship (for those planning to live outside Quebec) there is no financial requirement! They can't refuse you as a sponsor because of your earnings, I double checked this with CIC over the phone as well before we applied. Also, I received my SA with unemployed status, so that should also give you some relief

If you sponsored a dependent child I think you over-paid.

The fee is $75 for sponsor and $75 for principal applicant under 22 years of age so $150 total. They are also exempt from the right to permanent residence fee.
I think you paid and extra $475, so that's you got refunded ($625-$150=$475).

I just received an email requesting for my passport. But the letter did not mention any deadline, it just said "as soon as possible" along with any ore documents which have not been submitted. And not to submit the passport without the required documents. In my case I have two police clearances in process....Malaysia and Canada. I am still not sure whether I need one from Canada or not. What do you all say?

So happy for you .

Just try to submit as soon as possible.When they get the passport they will start working on your case. So make it soon. Yes you have to submit all your passports and PCC (place where you live more then 6 months).

Now its our turn after you to get this email from NDVO. and on which email id they send this email sponsor or applicant?

I am not quite sure about getting my Malaysian pcc soon and also not sure if I need to submit my Canadian pcc. If they start processing my file right after receiving my pp I think I should send it soon without the pcc huh? Even when the letter clearly states submit everything together. There is confusion in every stage :'(

You have to send everything together. So just try to get PCC from both countries as soon as possible. And if you already submitted the medical letters then it is okey otherwise you have to submit that too. And tell me one more thing r u able to login into ECAS and if yes then what you select to check the status means sponsorship> spouse from outside canada ? > and file no. which is mentioned on SA letter? Actually i tried these steps and m not able to go through !

And one more thing Jasmine, they won't start working on your application without PCC. PCC is more important then passport. So try to get PCC first. I hope you will get PCC soon

that means a good thing...congrats u've got ur SA already!
