September 2012 Applicant - no news at all. is it normal???

Good afternoon.
I have applied PR (CEC) at the end of August 2012, and received email saying that they received my application and it will be forwarded to a visa office for further processing.
And on-line service website states "We received your application for permanent residence on August 27, 2012."
And since then Nothing.
I didn't receive anything like which visa office got my application....
And what is AOR? I don't think I got the either...?
I called call centre, she said they can't access the file, I would have to email..So I emailed them just now...
It's not normal that I have not heard from them for 6 months... right?

It is quite normal. June applicants are receiving their medicals right now. The silence for August applicants may continue for 2-3 more months.

Is AOR what I received in email??
That had application number starting with E00******

My other concern is my status is not "in process", it is "application received" .

Yes, that is the AOR. Unless a visa officer opens ur file, online status will show "Application received".

Its perfectly normal. All applicants who applied in September, still have the same status on their Ecas account. You can follow the September 2012 thread, and you will be in the loop when any of the September 2012 applications starts to get processed. Here is the link where you can join the group:

yup, seems like all applicants around August / September are still stuck at "Application Received" as their ECas status! hopefully there will be updates soon!

Same boat. But it's normal.

Hey, look at it this way, when I was waiting for my post-grad WP, it took them 4 months to process it. For the first 3 months and 3 weeks, every time I called to check my application status, it said the application was "received", and then after that it was "authorized". Sometimes they just don't bother to update the system in between processing steps...and yet sometimes they do, which is irksome, but that's how it is.

AOR = Acknowledgement of Receipt, as in... "We received your application..."

Unfortunately, it is quite normal to not hear anything for 6 months, or more...
