It is possible to reach the CIC call centre from outside Canada via Foreign Affairs Canada:

+1 613 944 4000 (for an agent: options 1,2,1,2,1 ... then 0 to skip the message)
I hope you can reach them using 613 area code number.

I've reached them, and they let me wait on the line while they were checking, they gave me our client number and told me that you will be receiving an email for the decision in the coming few days.

JUst a few questions wondering if anyone can help?

Ive been trying to log onto the online application status section of the CIC website, using recipt number etc. It says it doesnt recognize my details. Does this mean my file hasnt been opened yet? Also do they only update this once a week?

My app got recieved CPC-M on 15th, I noticed a few people after me have got approvals, should this be a cause for concern?

I guess it just depends on the agent working on your application...

Oh yeah and for the people that are already approved, are most people getting emails or letters? Myself and my spouse both provided emails so im presumming this is what they will use?

Any help would be much appriciated! Thanks!

From the other forums that I've read, timing does sometimes depend on the agent that you get on how quickly your application gets processed. I also think it depends on the AMOUNT of information ie. supporting documents that you send. I'm guessing sending a lot of information could make going through all the information in your application longer.

I sent in my application around the same time as you and was approved earlier this week, so you should be next! They communicated to me via email.

Mine was received the same date and I havn't heard anything yet. Don't worry! It will come when it comes. It's probably different agents handling the apps, so some take longer than others. I'll probably call Monday or Tuesday, just because we are going on a longer trip, and in case there is something missing, it would be better to now before we leave.

The email approval from CIC comes from this email id : "CPCM-EXTCOM @ cic.gc.ca" and the subject would be : "Citizenship and Immigration Canada – CPCM - Communication to client". And a good idea would be to add this email id to your contacts so that when you receive email from CIC it directly comes to your inbox instead of the junk folder.

I called the cic call center just being over stressed about processing time. I know it's early but couldnt stop myself from calling. As usual they asked me call after three weeks bcz they are working on sept16.
