so I sponsored my husband to come to Canada and after he arrived he completely changed. I don't feel like he loves me any more although he says he does. I want to know in case of a separation or divorce can I easily get him deported under the new conditional permanent residence law? (all the rules apply to us). he got an apartment and instead of planning a life with me in that apartment he is now living with his mom and totally stopped talking to me. he got his PR a month or 2 ago and everything went down after that...... I'm so confused what should i do?

Report to CIC that relationship has broken down and you are no longer cohabiting, so in violation of Condition 51.

It is then entirely up to CIC how to proceed. They will start an investigation, and could end up revoking his PR and deporting him but there is no guarantee of that. They may or may not share details of their investigation with you, but if he used you just to get PR status hopefully they do end up revoking his PR.

Don't be surprised if he lies and alleges that you abused him in some way, since that is pretty much the only way someone in violation of conditional PR would be able to keep their PR status.

If you dont have kids. In 2 years his pr card will expire at which time he would habe to prove you are still martied and living together to get a renewed one if not then he gets his pr taken away. That is the new rule since oct 2013 for those who were scamming the system

i thought pr cards are valid for 5 years?

i think the point is she doesn't want to wait to not be responsible for him. if he goes on welfare before he needs to renew is card, she is on the hook to repay it to Canada. if the relationship has broken down, it's best to nip it in the bud now before it snowballs into something more undesirable.

That is not how conditional PR works. PR card is still valid for 5 years. Only after 2 years, it automatically turns into full PR unless CIC has opened an investigation into someone. If there is no open investigation, there will be no proof necessary to turn conditional into full PR.
