Hello all!
I sent my application in the beginning of the month and it was received on the 6th of September.

What happens now?
Do I wait for them to contact me though email and give me an application number? how long does it take?
Do I need to do anything at this stage? for example link the send app to myCIC? or should I just wait until they contact me?

Thanks in advance!!!

Processing times will vary based on application type and country of origin. You will need to wait until they process the application, and it is created in Global Case Management System (GCMS) before you can like to an application. If you applied inland, your 4 month window for when they have to issue an OWP started 06/09/2016.

They will send email notifications to you. The first one will have a case (file) and UCI number. Those are critical.

Thanks for the quick answer.

My application is common-law OUTLAND and my visa office is Sao Paulo.

How long does it take for me to receive the app number to link, and the GCMS?
The GCMS just comes after I receive the app number?

Thanks again

For us it was about 2 months. Most are reporting a month or so.

Hi,

I need your help in clarifying the following and i will be utterly grateful to you if u can help me with this: :(

1) MyCiC account is separate for principal applicant and sponsor?
2) Can the principal applicant make a MyCiC account and request for GCKey before receiving AOR1 or can it ONLY be done after my sponsor recieves the AOR1 and sponsorship approval email?
3) My husband/sponsor is a canadian citizen.. he already has a UCI code and all.. he created an account with CIC for paying the sponsorship fee.. is that the same as MyCic account?

extremely anxious.. :(

Yes they have different accounts and views. The sponsor can see both applications, the sponsored can only see the PR (and OWP if you requested one).

You can try, though I doubt it will work. Typically you need the UCI or Application number. But they may be able to locate your file based on other details. Give it a shot.

If he has a UCI, then he can link to your application using myCIC.

Hopefully that helps relieve some of the anxiety. If not, feel free to ask more..

You can create MyCIC account any time but you will only be able to link your case to the account in near future, most likely after AOR1.
