Hi All,

I sent my application to CIC via courrier. I was told by the courrier company that my application arrived at CIC office on 20th April and someone received it.
It's been over a month now and I haven't heard from CIC yet. Is it normal to take that long? I'm assuming things are a lot slower due to COVID-19, but even so shouldn't I expect an email at least, saying they got it. I tired to check status on the online portal but didn't get anywhere with that. Any ideas?

This is perfectly normal and there's nothing to be concerned about. It's too early to have heard anything at this point. Even pre-COVID, it generally took around two months to receive the first communication - expect things to be even slower now. Nothing to worry about and normal.

Obviously you have to wait because of Coronavirus. I'm March applicant still waiting.

They are just letting people in March know that their applications were received. Give it a few more weeks. Read the forum there are a lot of changes going on.

Not yet, still waiting. As Dii said apparently they're still working on previous months. You should join the May 2020 thread to stay updated.
