After waiting over 2 months the police certificate finally arrived. Sent it via UPS to the Philippines and later realized that I did not include my application number.

Will this be an issue for CIC to locate my application file once received? Anyone here mailed the police certificate by itself without any problems?

They should be able to find it as long as they have some information, like the principal applicant's date of birth, full name, etc (even then, they might be able to figure it out from the information in your PCC).

I'm guessing you already received SA and confirmation that your application has been forwarded to the visa office where you sent your PCC?

I'm basically the sponsor but yeah I have submitted all the documents to them except the police certificate. I didn't open the envelope of course but I assume it'll have her date of birth, address, etc on it. They never instructed me to include the application number. Just to send original documents to their address.

So I was a bit concerned and curious. Should I send them an e-mail to let them know just in case? What is SA?

SA=Sponsorship Approval. It's the first step of the application. All applications are sent to and processed in Mississauga first for sponsorship approval, then they are transferred to the visa office in another country. If your application is in Mississauga still and you sent the PCC to the Philippines... that could be an issue.

Have you received sponsorship approval? When did you submit your application? Have you received any correspondence that your application has been forwarded to the visa office in the Philippines? I would submit a case specific enquiry asking if they have received the PCC, because sending it without any additional information to identify the principal applicant or sponsor or their application is very iffy. https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx

Thanks for the quick response! Yes I have sponsorship approval 4 months ago (Submitted in January) and I received notice that my spouse's application is currently being processed in Manila. I sent it by UPS under my name (Sponsor). They said they need a police certificate so now I'm hoping the contents in the police certificate will have her name and date of birth at least? That way they can search her up.

It should have her name of date of birth, and that should be enough for them to identify her and attach it to the application, but I would still fill out a CSE just to confirm that they have received it, just in case.
