So nervous but so excited. I've probably gone through all the papers over 10 times already lol... and plan to do it one last time JUST to be safe tomorrow before i send it up to Canada and it's no longer in my hands.
I made this post just to make sure of a few last things and to make sure i have everything i need...

My first question is.... The Immigrant's Guide, for the United States. Does this entire thing need to be printed out and put together in the whole application somewhere? Or is this just for my own records?
I figured maybe to keep the checklist that's in there if anything at all, but that's also another question I have. At the bottom of that checklist it says Photo's, and then the specifications underneath but I did that for my medical exam. Do I also need to send in 4 photos of me to immigration with my application?
Another question that may sound silly but I would like to know.... Does CIC not like staples? Not the company, just actual staples? I stapled together the pages of all the forms, not every single form together jut each form individually. I'm not sure if this is important but better safe than sorry lol.

Other than my questions. I put the document checklist on top of all the forms with a cover sheet that reads "FORMS" and everything behind it in the order it reads. At the end of the sponsor's forms I put all of his supporting documents attached to his questionairre, and then I put my all of my supporting documents (like the answers to the questions that there was insufficient space for and all other things it asks for in the questionairre, phone bills, wedding stuff, engagment stuff, how our relationship started and why it is what it is now) underneath the permanent residency forms, all clipped together with a big alligator clip (which is another i would like to know if CIC likes or not) Following that is another cover page that reads "SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS" with everything under the supporting documents box on the checklist in order, like marriage certificates, passports, birth certificates, notice of asessment, proof of employment etc... Everything else after what is at the end of the checklist is my immigrant's guide if it's needed. with the police certificate and medical exam paper and everything in the checklist for the immigrant's guide.( havent taken a copy of the police certificate because i didnt think i'd ever need it for anything else ) put it all together with another clip. last section is MISCELLANEOUS, and it has all sorts of things like western union receipts, some travel stuff, birthday wedding and christmas cards, notes to and from eachother, facebook messagesand all other miscellaneous letters from parents acknowleding that they know the relationship is genuine, one from my school so they know that i will already have an education by the time i come and live there, and just random pictures that didnt belong in any category! (all my pictures are in collages of 4 -8 pictures with captions underneath explaining what what why when and where.)

Oh yeah! And each of us wrote a 4 - 5 page "story" about our relationship and our feelings for eachother and things we like to do together : )

Other than that, everything signed in black ink and put in order minus all the husband's stuff (has to get to him first before we could put that in :p) and it's ready to go tomorrow evening!!!

Please let me know what you guys think and if there's anything I have missed, would like to know from some of you if your applications sounded similar to mine and if there's anything else you think might be better proof of the relationship that you included and i did not. Also would like to know if anyone else has included things as personal as personal messages and emails to each other, and instant messages? There was one photo of my husband being silly and flipping off the camera, I crossed it out just in case and explained why i crossed out his finger, should i not have done that? Ahhhh, sorry if i'm sounding a bit paranoid here but I want to be as sure as i can that there's nothing that's gonna make the question our application and cause delays! The process takes long enough as it is lol! Thanks so much for your help everyone! Bet ya I couldn't have done this all without the help I have gotten from these forums. Hopefully I can get some answers tonight or tomorrow before i send it off!! :)

The Immigrant's guide is just to tell you how to fill out the forms. It does not get sent with the application. Send the checklists, though.

Yes, you have to include the photos with the application.

They seem to keep changing their advice here. They do say somewhere not to staple things together. It is not a deal breaker - they will not send an application back because some forms are stapled. Clips: some people have reported that they just take these off when they receive the application, so they are not necessary. It won't hurt to have them either.

The order you've put everything in sounds fine. Lots of people include messages and emails - it is good proof of the genuineness of the relationship. Crossing off your husband's finger in a photo, with an explanation, is not necessary, but won't hurt in any way.

Thanks so much!

Do they need photos of my husband as well?

Only of the applicant.

I know it says that "immigration photos are not the same as passport photos" and to bring that sheet with me to the photographer. but i planned on going to walgreens (for those of you who dont know what that is its just a drugstore in the US) where they do the passport photo's and just tell them that theyre not atually for a passport theyre for immigration purposes and just tell them the sizes it asks for. do you think tht would be ok? or do i have to go to a specific place to get them done?

Oh and for the receipt for the payments, since we are paying at a financial institution rather than online (no credit card)... my husband is paying it since it can only be done IN canada, so where it gives the space for the client ID number, should i put my client ID in there or leave it blank since he is the one paying and does not have a Client ID?

As long as Walgreens can do the size you need, they'll be fine. I'd put your ID number.

cool beans! went to walgreens and they kinda butchered my photos a bit... some are like slightly longer and/or wider than others by less than like a millimeter lol... and the lines arent perfectly straight because they didnt have anything but scissors to cut them with and the guy was in such a rush. but i really hope thats not a reason to send my application back! if it is thats just extremely frustrating lol. but i shipped it off via UPS tonight! 3.5 pounds, and may be a little more once my husband puts the remaining documents into it! so excited that this is no longer my responsibility lol. now the waiting REALLY begins!

Good luck! Don't worry about the photos--I forgot immigration photos altogether and they just asked for some with the PPR. Now the hard part!

thanks! that's good to hear lol. i'm sure i'll be back for many questions to follow this after it's filed, i have never done anything like this before and it's all still so new to me no matter how much i look up and read about it.
after it's filed how to i get notified that it's been filed? do i get an email or something, or my sponsor?

You don't usually get any notification until you've reached sponsorship approval. I strongly recommend sending it with some kind of delivery confirmation, just so you have something that proves the application got there, for your own peace of mind.

if i do it through ups can i get a delivery confirmation?

haha woops! i can just get a tracking number from ups duhhhh.
