Hi everybody,

after having browsed in this forum i realized how much helpful information you provide and i realized that i could probably upgrade a bit my application sent to Vegreville at the start of july 2010 to make it more efficient....

1) i would probably send more proof of genuine relationship
2) i would pay the PR fee upfront of 490 dollars and send the receipt
3) i would include an open work permit application

But i guess if i want to do this I would have to wait for my client ID numer to be created, right? I wouldn't want all my new info to be submitted and not matched with my original application

What do you think? Any advice?

Thanks a lot for your help in advance

I imagine you can send your stuff and write your receipt number on the outside of the envelope...its another way CIC keeps track of things.

I would also have a cover page stating that the OWP is to be twinned with you inland application sumitted XX/XX/XXXX because otherwise they will just deny it right away.

To be sure, call CIC and ask them what they think is best.

Thanks Plumosa, you were very kind!!! I noticed that you applied outland to quebec. I'm applying inland in quebec.

I'm in Quebec City :)

why did you choose inland?

allo plumosa wanna ask ya please how did you know that the interview is waived ?

thanx

regards

I'm Italian.I'm actually in montreal right now and heading east very soon, I was living in argentina for years and we didnt know that we were going to move to canada until recently and it was too late to apply outland in the buenos aires visa office( i was living 3600 km from the capital, imagine!) so we applied inland, it was easier for us

i called the call centre and they told me that i cannot submit an OWP(open work permit) request after i already submitted my application and i have to wait until AIP (approval in principle). for what it regards the PR landing fee they said i can, and it's better if i send it after my AIP is approved. for what it concerns proof of relationship she asked me "what did you provide in your original application?", and i said "we have a daughter together, I provided her birth certificate(she is canadian) , our marriage certificate and photos of relationship and wedding photos and thats it! and then i told her i wanted to send letters of family and friends, emails, airline tks etc and she said "I think you provided enough information, don't send anymore." thats what the call agent said....anyway we will see....if i send the PR landing fee after AIP i could well put a few more proofs in my application, i don't think it would make the application worse....

You could still have applied outland. An outland application is sent to the Mississauga office in Ontario, not directly to the visa office in the foreign country where it will be processed.
But inland is fine too.
Because you are living together in Canada, the call center agent is right - your proof of a genuine relationship probably will be enough. Some of us send in far more proof simply because we are in fact living apart and/or are applying through a 'difficult' office.

Thanks canadianwoman for your opinion!
