Sending PR cards to Germany with FedEx or DHL

Hello.

I've been told there might be some complications with sending PR cards overseas with couriers.

I need my friend to send us our PR cards from Toronto, Ontario to Berlin, Germany. I want to understand if there are any potential issues with German customs and border security with sending these identification documents over DHL or FedEx couriers?

Does anyone here have a similar experience?
