Sending passport to the Philippines from Canada through Courier...is it Illegal?

Just got my PPR today but I'm still here in Canada. Was thinking of sending it through courier but somebody told me its illegal does somebody here mailed their passport before through a courier??

Phoned fedex and they said mailing passport is allowed in the Philippines. You think its ok if I mail it?? please help

Well you'd like to think that they would know, but when you ask if it's illegal and FedEx says that it is allowed...perhaps the Philippines laws are different that the FedEx laws.

Might be worth a simple search via [insert search engine of choice], while waiting for someone to reply here that would have a definitive answer for you.

Wouldn't the easiest thing to do would be to phone the Philippines consulate?

That guy in fedex was checking the list of countries earlier and he said its ok to send passport in the Philippines. hope he is right but I will definitely make a call. thanks again
