Visa Office......
Paris
We sent our outland application about a month ago without one of the police certificates (I included proof of having applied for it twice). I have now received the missing police certificate so I was wondering if I need to send it as an additional document asap? Shall we wait until the visa office requests it and risk having it expire?

We haven't received SA yet. I only have the applicant's UCI number, so I don't know if that is enough for them to file the police cert with the rest of our application.

Ideas? Cheers.

If you've got a UCI number then they should be able to match it to your application.....but this is CIC so you're never guaranteed anything! I would send it though, you don't want to wait until they request it which could be months then it's out of date and you have to pay to get another.

actually, it's best to wait to send it until AFTER you get sponsor approval. It will not take months for them to request it, as it is commonly requested in the sponsor eligibility document with instructions about how to submit it. Even though you have a UCI, you don't have a current file number. Especially since you just withdrew an inland application, the last thing you want to happen is it to NOT get attached to the RIGHT file properly, resulting in delays because you needed to get another one. Generally, if it's sent before the visa office opens the file, then there won't be any delay in processing. Again, I would definitely recommend waiting until CIC gives instructions about how to send it to the visa office. It's not even a necessary document for sponsor approval, so there's no reason to send it to Mississauga, unless they happen to be the visa office that ends up processing your file.

Send the PCC directly to the Paris office after you receive SA. If you still haven't received SA a few weeks before the PCC is due to expire, then send it to Mississauga with a note explaining the situation and including all the info you can (names, DOBs, UCI, addresses).

Ah I beg to differ...friend of mine was in exactly the same position and submitted the application minus the PCC and it wasn't asked for through SA, in fact it wasn't requested until his PR went into progress so he had to pay for a new one. Maybe a quirk but hence my reply.

Thanks for your replies. Paying for a new one is not an issue, the problem is applying for it in the first place, you have NO IDEA of how complicated it's been to get this f***ing piece of paper. I just can't let it expire, so I guess I'll wait to see what happens after SA, which shouldn't take more than a month now.

Don't bother waiting for them to request it. Just send it to the Paris office after you get SA.
