Send passports after India (for PPR) from US. HOW?

Hi,

I'm an FSW-2014 applicant from India and my visa processing center is NDVO, India. I may have to travel to the US in coming few months.

In the scenario that I am in the US and then I get PPR to submit Passports to New Delhi, India : we are not allowed to courier our passports, it is very risky. So what should I do?

Option 1 : Request that my file be transferred from NDVO to US office? Or to Canada office?
Option 2: Have my spouse take our passports to India and submit to NDVO, while I remain in the US. Would it not be an issue that I keep residing in the US without a passport?
Option 3 : Fly back to India with family, and submit passports to NDVO. I would not be able to take much time off from work for this.

How much time does NDVO take before stamping and returning?

Would be great if you all could share your advice and experiences, if any. Thanks to all in advance.

I have traveled back to India for pr stamping. It took around one month time. That is the best option. Submit passports thro VFS India.

Well, this time NDVO has sent MR separately, leaving only PPR. Ideally one would assume that now once PPR is initiated, it would not take much time to get them stamped and returned. But we cannot be sure.

Whatever the time they take, I will have to

1. take leave from my job,
2. travel back with entire family,
3. not be able to travel back to US until we get our passports back

Just trying to know if anyone has experience of getting passports stamped without travelling back. Like file transfer to US/Canada office, or sending through family/friend.

You can submit passports thro your family. Primary applicant has to land first in canada.

Is it possible to change the VO after receiving PPR?

We are in the same boat.

We live in ireland and in any case cannot travel to india to submit our passports to the NDVO. But can send passports through someone(human courier).

Is it allowed to send our passports through someone. And how much time will they take to stamp the passports? Any idea anyone?

Yes you can send thro your family members with authorization letter. Generally they take one month time for stamping.

Hi...i was in US when i filed my PR application, in December i came back from US and in Jan'15 got a email from CPC-O for a PPR. I couldn't send them the PPR since its against Indian laws to send PP outside of India and hence requested the CPC-O office to transfer my case to New Delhi office. Its been a month i haven't heard back from them.

Should i contact VFS here and check if they my case has been transferred? I've sent a email yesterday to New Delhi Visa office and got a automatic reply which again saying that they will reply in 20 working days.

Anyone who has experienced such thing and can provide some guidance would be highly appreciated.

I tried writing the same mail to them requesting them to change our visa office, but they outrightly denied saying that this is not possible as the documents cannot be sent to the UK visa office.

I am not sure why they have not send you a reply yet, but am pretty sure they would not accept t change the VO.

in the email i received from them which asked me to submit my passport at Ottawa office, had a point which says if the applicant has changed his\her address it should be informed to them so as the Visa processing can be done at local office. I had informed them a month back but haven't received a email reply however on CIC website i can see my address has been changed to my India address.

That can't be right if they have said that it can't be done, did you got a email from them asking you to submit you passport to Ottawa office for Visa Stamping or is it for something else?

Send email to Ottawa office, they will arrange for stamping from Delhi office.

i had sent them a email about a month ago asking for stamping to be done in New Delhi. They haven't responded back in a month and their turn around time in the automatic reply is 20 days.

Not sure what i should do now?

May be you can send reminder now. I knew some people got stamping from Delhi after they got passport request from Ottawa.
