Hello everyone,
I'm Noor. I'm international student. I came to Calgary, Alberta in 2022 sept. I messed up my studies and now in terrible situation, not able to take steps to PR here.
1. Study 2022: I.T. Diploma at S.A.I.T. did 1 semester only
2. Study 2023: Foundation in Entertainment Arts Certificate at bow valley completed 2 semesters, but couldn't do last semester because of college's error of grading wrong in one course later it was sorted but then i was offered 3rd sem in may 2024 which i couldnt accept due to my another 1year new course.
3. Study 2024: Administrative Professional Diploma at Portage campus in CIOT college (January intake)
-> i initially applied for certificate but because i never completed a year of study i converted it into diploma which will end in December 2025.

Now, i heard from somewhere that if i manage to get job in healthcare i can apply for PR after study during work permit phase. But i found out that you need a license to work in healthcare. I'm concerned if i need a complete one year or 2 year study for the job. I would really appreciate right guidance on this.
Thankyou:)

Are you asking about the Express Entry healthcare category draws? Assuming so, you need at least six months of work experience in a qualifying occupation. Work experience gained while studying cannot be counted.

If you are not asking about this program, you'll need to be specific about which program you are asking about.

Hey thanks for replying. I'm asking if a diploma thing required for job in Healthcare to apply for PR after I get on PGWP or i can get job without the study in that sector and still be eligible for PR

Also I'm trying calling ircc for 5months my study permit extension expires 31march 2025 my agent accidentally put wrong address where I'm not able to reach ever and now i need my permit to apply for new extension
Idk what to do

I'm trying searching for the information but couldn't find thankyou for the link. I'll look into it.

Go to the link and select the healthcare draw option to see the occupations that are included. There's no way you are going to get a job in these occupations without the required education and certification.

I don't understand what this means. Post to the International Student section of the forum and explain the issue more clearly.

Yeah I just checked. My study is related to office administration but those jobs aren't eligible for PR

This is wrong. These jobs are eligible for PR but you have to have enough points through EE to be selected through a general draw.

Would make sure that you have shown that you are being successful in this course and are on track to graduate on time. Also work to max out your language scores or even learn French.
