Seeking Asylum with Work visa

Hello everyone,
Please can anyone with work visa ( permit) seek asylum (become refugee) after entering the canada?
Again, what if the asylum was refused or denied. Will I be sent back to my country or continue with my work till end of the work permit duration.

Yes, you can claim asylum from inside Canada. If your claim and any subsequent appeals are declined, you will be removed. Your work permit might be canceled and you would have to reapply for a new one as a refugee claimant. The whole process will probably take longer than the duration of your current work permit. Please consult an immigration lawyer before you claim asylum as you might even qualify for economic immigration.
