I applied my WP on Dec 14 2024 and got approve in Jan 08.2025 even I am still under comprehensive BGC. I hope there will not be an issue for WP due to back ground check.

Great, thanks for giving me hope. I wou be happy if she gets work permit. My wife’s background check started on 11th Nov, 24. I contact law firm for mandamus but they told me to wait till 18 months. Overall 11 months have passed, which is more than current processing time for outland sponsorship

But the lawyer will charge more than $5,000 for a mandamus application, and I’ve heard that if the delay is due to background checks, the court may not grant the mandamus, or IRCC may strongly defend the case.


My application has been in process for 31 months, and I’m still waiting. I haven’t filed a mandamus due to the reasons mentioned above.
