Second medical asked even that the previous one is still valid

hello everyone,
My spousal sponsorship is in the final stages. My wife is asked to undergo a second medical exam, even that the previous medical is still valid for another 2 months. Can anyone here explain why would the officer do that instead of making a decision on the file?
