Second marriage in canada while 1st spouse's sponsor file is in process

Can a sponsor who had applied for spouse visa can put that application on hold and get marry again in canada? How does a marriage outside Canada are recognized in Canada.

A spouse visa doesn’t exist. Do you mean a visitor visa or spousal sponsorship.? Why do you want to get married again in Canada? To the same person?

Spousal sponsorship. Application reached Passport stamping request but has been under process since more than a month. I want this information for my friend whose spouse(PR in canada) is threatening her. Can that person get marry in Canada while his spouse is in India .
