I am currently residing in South Korea and my home country is Pakistan. I want to file an SDS application. But recently I heard that to be eligible for the SDS application one should have to reside in the home country for the past six months to be eligible for that application. Is it a valid rule or I can just go back to Pakistan and apply for an SDS application? Please let me know if anybody knows about this rule.

Why do you want to do this? SDS is not faster. So you can prove legal residency in Pakistan? Why lie and get in trouble? The site states the following:

Who isn’t eligible for the Student Direct Stream
If you live anywhere other than 1 of the countries listed above (even if you’re a citizen of one of the countries above), you must apply through the regular study permit application process.

First, I think SDS is faster as per the CIC website. Even with the backlog, they give the results in 40 days or so.
I am not gonna lie to CIC anyway. I am trying to say that they haven't mentioned anytime frame. So in that case, If I go to my hometown and then after one month or so can I apply for SDS?

Sure if you are staying there.
