School changed their program schedule

Hello everyone,

My brother has a student visa expiring March 2026 and was supposed to finish his program this Fall term. But the school changed the schedule and now 2 out of the 3 subjects he needs are offered Winter/Spring instead of Fall/Winter. We already talked to the school and they said his only choice is to extend his visa to cover the Winter term. They also want him to take 2 extra subjects this Fall so he maintains full-term status. Is this really the only way? Will he be able to get PGWP if he only takes one subject this Fall? It's not like it's his fault, the school changed the program.

He can only be part time the last semester. The school is providing correct guidance as he needs to be full time in the fall.

Oh alright, that's too bad then. Hopefully extending his visa won't be too big of an issue. Thanks for the response!

Would suggest applying for the extension very early because processing times are very long. As long as he has been a genuine full-time student there should be no issue getting the extension. He is only asking for an extension to finish the semester.
