Hey guys quick question... Searched the forum but couldn't find anything applicable.

I need some help with filling out Schedule 8 where they are inquiring about "Skilled work experience in the past 3 years".

I held a casual "Undergraduate Research Assistant" position on campus while I was in university (on study permit). Technically, this is a skilled (NOC0) position but since I didn't have my PGWP and was still a student at the time, it doesn't count towards the 1-year work experience.

I am already listing it in the Background Declaration (Schedule A) form, but do you guys recommend that I include this in Schedule 8 as well and then check the box where it says "were you a full-time student during any of these employments" and explain the situation? Or just exclude it as it really doesn't count towards the CEC hours?

Cheers!

This is a constant question. As I understand the instructions, you SHOULD include it as you describe. But if you don't, it won't hurt your application either. Some people advise not including it, so as to not "confuse" the VO. I personally advise following the instructions.

Yeah that's my worry... "were you a full-time student during any of these employments" seems like one of those questions that if you check yes, you'll automatically raise some red flags. I am really torn on this one and the instructions aren't clear enough to dictate whether if it should be excluded if the experience wasn't applicable to CEC.
