Dear fellows,

I want to move some cash from Saudi to my account in Canada. I have TD Canada Trust account, but when i went to western union with swift code and other details,...they couldn't trace my bank and said that this bank was not in their list. Al rajhi Taweel says that it will go via UK, will take a lot of time, and I have to bear transfer fees at three places, here in Saudi SAR 85, some unknown amount in UK and C$ 17.5 in Canada. And even after paying this much, there is no guarantee that money will reach my account, it may come back sometimes. Anyone who has wired money from Riyadh to Canada, pls share your experience. urgent

Thanks

Dear Hasni,
Try doing an international money transfer with NCB at any of its bank branches or through its online banking portal. I think they charge SAR50 per transaction. Your bank in Canada might also charge around SAR100 as service fee. I hope this helps.
Hi to all!

I did many times money transfer to my TD Bank thru NCB. NCB charges SR50 per transfer & TD charges CAD 25 per transfer.

I guess having a driving license history/extract makes the process of getting a full Canadian license faster. Based on other threads here, if we have over 24 months 'overseas' driving experience -we get the Ontario G2 Driving License. To claim the overseas driving experience, we must obtain a 'Letter of Authentication' from the country's Roads & Transport Authority, explaining our D/License.

See a post by qorax below:
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/how-to-get-canadian-driving-license-for-newcomers-t39566.0.html
Hi Lawrence,

I did the same thing and I now have G2 Driver's License since I visited Canada last October 2013. I am not yet a Resident of Canada and just have a Temporary Visitor Visa only but I was able to have a G2!

If you can bring with you your authenticated copy (from the Canadian Embassy) of your Saudi Driver's License, you could save more time and have the G Driver's License.

Hi,

I have sent my passport to Abu Dhabi from KSA for immigration visa pasting by using Aramex.
Its exactly 10 working days today but I have not heard neither from embassy nor from Aramex regardin passport return.
Question : what is processing time for visa pasting at Abu dhabi visa office. (PPR 2 says that it should take 10 working days)
Is there any member who faced same problem

Dear fellows please guide me

Hi Azlan,
Don’t worry. You should be getting back the passport soon. If you sent the passports to ADVO with a return airway bill of aramex, once ADVO dispatches your package you can track its shipment status on aramex website.

The visa office responsible for FSW applications from Saudi Arabia is London UK. All new immigration applications must first be mailed to the Centralized Intake Office in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada who will then forward it to the relevant visa office.

Hi Hasni,

For first time international transfer, you need to do it over the counter. Once you have done it, it would show in your NCB online so you can do future online transfers.

The process is as follows:

Log into alahlionline.com
Under ‘My AlAhli' click on ‘Bank Accounts' on the left side panel
Click on ‘Bank Accounts'
Click on ‘Money Transfer'
From the dropdown list in ‘Transaction type' select ‘International Transfer'
From the dropdown list in ‘International Transfer' select your beneficiary

If this is your first transfer to your Canadian account through NCB, you will need to add beneficiary. The procedure is below:
Click on ‘Add beneficiary' and input your Canadian bank account details. Call the phone banking to activate the beneficiary. NCB takes three working days to verify and activate a new beneficiary.
The above service is different from NCB Quick Pay.

Hi Lawrence, appreciate your help indeed. Just created a beneficiary and they say it may take three business days before it is activated. But when followed the instructions and tried to activate it through phone, it said that your beneficiary has been activated !
I was of the impression that all international transfer goes through QPAY, cuz I have been transferring money to my native country through it so far. Should I transfer money to my native country also through international money transfer procedure, or both are same when it comes to sending money to Asian countries !

Lucky day for you.

My understanding is that Quick Pay is a remittance service (just like Tehweel Rajhi) which can be used by even those people who do not have a bank account in NCB. Typically this service is for small amounts (monthly limit upto SR25,000). On the other hand, International Transfer (SWIFT etc) is meant for transferring large amounts between two bank accounts.

You as NCB accountholder can use Quick Pay as it is linked to your online banking/ATM. For personal remittances to native country, your choice of channel will be based on service fee, exchange rate and convenience. I don't know if Quick Pay offers the best FX rate in town. There is surely a transaction fee. But it is convenient for you if you do it through online banking.

Use International Transfer for native country if the amount is significant as fee per transaction is SR50 at NCB and also upto SR100 at the receiving bank.

Select New Delhi Visa office if you are comfortable sending your original passport to NDVO at a later processing stage.

New Delhi visa office is much faster than London visa office in processing applications.
