Hi Guys,

I worked in Canada from Sep 2011 to Sep 2012 as a mechanical engineer intern. I was on the international experience Canada work permit and visa for 1 year. I got the internship through a student exchange body from the UK.

I applied for PR in Jan 2014, passed the eligibility, did my medicals and have paid my RPRF on 10th October 2014. Since then there has been no change in my application status. It is still at Medical received.

As there is no communication, I got a bit worried and I am wondering whether my salary in Canada might be a factor that can cause a rejection. My salary in Canada was $36,000 per year as I was an intern for the whole year. Now this salary is less than the wage rate stated on the job bank website. My hourly wage was 17.50 and The lowest wage rate in Ontario is 23.08.

I would like to get your opinions about how this factor might affect my application. I would really appreciate the help.

Thanks and Regards

Thanks for your reply. I hope you are right and salary is not a factor.
Hope to get the PPR soon. Good luck.
If it was LMO application it would be a factor but for PR application I don't think it will affect the decision of the officer. But, you never know. It's all up to the Visa Officer's judgement. Good luck with your application.

As long as you're making less than the visa officer, you should be good!

Seriously though, with PR applications, salary is not a factor as far as I know.

:D :D ;)

Thanks for your reply guys. It make me feels less nervous.
Hope the people at CIC getS the work done quickly. CIC is hopeless when compared to UKBA and USCIS.
