I know a family whose SAH application got submitted in November, 2025, and have their approval in December 2025 (very recent). Islamabad is their visa processing center. As like many others, they are very worried that they can be deported back to Afghanistan which could potentially impact their application. I, however, see that Islamabad visa office has now expedited case processing time compare to many other countries like Turkey.

Those who has their case process in Islamabad, can you please share your timeline?

SAH application submitted december 24, Step 1 ( sponsor approval) in March 25. August 25, protection letter issued, waiting for interview or next step like medical. It is important to keep in mind that the processing time is not forward looking, it is what it has taken IRCC in the past 6 month for most complete applications, but yes, the time has went down, which is giving hope, everyday is a one day to much in this nightmare,

That is incredibly fast processing even for expedited cases. Are you sure they have final approval? There can be a variety of steps along the way that require approval.

Just checked it again-- Application submitted on November 24, 2025 - Approval of sponsorship granted on December 07, 2025. The approval email talks about transferring the file to the processing visa office, UCI, G number, family size and info regarding next steps. I am aware it normally takes 2-3 months but this one is moving at the speed of light. They, however, are not able to log-in at ECAS with their application number as of yet.

This is kinda normal for SAH , they get approvals way faster than g-5

Step 1 has had a 1 month processing time for quiet a long time, now it says 5 month ( what it has taken them in the past 6 month) Step 2 went from 20 month to 14 to 8 and now to 11. Our family has been in step 2 for 9 month.
