Dear members,

I and my family along with 2 kids will be relocating to Calgary in September 17. We are planning to stay in Downtown Calgary for a year. I am looking at apartment house preferably 2 bed+2 bath and I am looking at rentfaster.ca. But as we will be new to downtown area and alongwith 2 kids, could you please suggest a safe places in downtown area? Your suggestions will help me to decide quickly. Thanks.

I lived in Beltline and lower Mount Royal area check those out pretty safe. Lived close to 17 Ave SW , I liked it, lot of bars and action during NHL games. Even with lot of noise and rowdiness its pretty safe there.

Liked the upper Mount Royal as well, Britannia and Parkhill are all good. Not sure if you can get rentals there though.

The new residential towers in East Village is safe too. You can look at that area. Near to the City hall C-train station.

do u guys know what papers I need to submit if I bring more that 10000 CAD?

There is a custom's declaration form that you will get on the airplane.

If your destination is Vancouver, no custom declaration form will be given in the airplane. Instead, all travelers will have to go through a kiosk for custom declaration. At the kiosk, the poster will have opportunity to declare the funds over $10,000. At the end of the line, the custom officer on duty will give him further instruction and given a form to complete.
